Home / Services / Reverse Osmosis

Reverse osmosis, for the water you actually drink.

A reverse osmosis unit under your kitchen sink with its own dedicated faucet. It filters the water down, then adds back the good minerals so your water tastes clean, not flat.

Think of it as a water-bottle vending machine built into your house, with a second faucet (color-matched to your existing one) just for the water you actually drink and cook with. Your regular faucet still handles the dishes; this one is for drinking, cooking, and washing produce.

Why it matters in the Lakeshore and West Michigan

Reverse osmosis is a point-of-use step. It sits at the kitchen tap and treats only the water you drink and cook with, rather than the whole house, which is why it is the piece people add when they want the drinking water treated to a finer level than a whole-home system is built for. For most homes it is also the upgrade that makes the clearest difference in how the water tastes.

What's behind the faceplate

  • A pre-carbon filter (like a large fridge filter).
  • The RO membrane, the stage the whole unit is built around.
  • A post-carbon filter with built-in alkaline remineralization, so the water isn't stripped flat.
On TDS: a TDS meter gives you one number for everything dissolved in the water, the wanted and the unwanted counted together. The last stage of the unit adds calcium and magnesium back in, so a higher reading at the faucet after remineralization is not the bad sign people assume it is.

Compact, and it shows

The unit is about the size of an Xbox, takes up almost no under-sink space, and looks clean. It's included in both flagship bundles, a near-automatic yes because it's inexpensive to add while we're already installing your whole-home system.
